Exoscopic studies and training
The best digital visualization for.
Complex surgeries such as those on the brain and spine require the highest standards in digital and optical visualization. The new ZEISS KINEVO 900 S enables you to visualize small anatomical landmarks or tissue color differences with greater confidence, thanks to the best digital visualization features and the latest 4K 3D camera technology.
KINEVO 900 S offers a new level of visualization that allows students and residents to observe exactly what the operating surgeon sees on a 4K 3D screen, providing superior training opportunities.
Discover a new dimension of clarity – ZEISS KINEVO 900 S
Digital Hybrid Visualization
Switch between exoscopic and optical modes.
The ZEISS PENTERO 800 S allows you to benefit from the benefits of an exoscope with 4K 3D resolution, while always providing access to the proven optics of an operating microscope. With our unique hybrid approach, you can easily switch between digital and optical visualization during the procedure. This gives you full flexibility to choose your preferred method for optimized team communication, ergonomic posture and free movement. Rely on excellent image quality with unlimited depth information in every mode.

How does Digital Hybrid Visualization work?
The ZEISS PENTERO 800 S comes with an integrated 4K 3D camera. This captures a video stream that is displayed live on the device screen and can also be displayed on an external 4K 3D monitor. When switching from eyeglass to monitor view, the microscope head can be moved upwards or tilted to the side, thus utilizing the full working distance. By switching to monitor mode in the device interface, you can quickly optimize optical settings for exoscopic work.
Depth+
To increase the depth of field
Spend less time repeatedly adjusting focus and zoom under medium to high magnification in deep anatomical structures and corridors during surgery. For example, during minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF), instant visual information about different anatomical layers is a key element for an efficient and safe procedure.
With the new Depth+ mode, you can further increase the depth field for higher resolution outside your current focal point. When you need it, you can see everything in your field of view sharply with just one click.

Depth+ case example
Anterior cervical decompression surgery
Compare decompression surgery (C3 - C4 anterior cervical surgery) images in Standard mode and Depth+ mode and experience the difference in depth field. With the advantage of the new Depth+ mode, you can focus on both the disc space and the anterior wall.
ZEISS QEVO
Micro Review Tool
When working with a surgical microscope during minimally invasive procedures, your view is limited to a straight line and you may miss critical information behind tissues or corners.
With the unique Micro-Inspection Tool QEVO from ZEISS, you can eliminate these blind spots in the microscopic view and see effectively around corners. When needed, attach it to your ZEISS PENTERO 800 S to get an immediate endoscopic view and quickly see the anatomy without magnifying the surgical field.
This efficiently provides access to additional visual information for greater precision during your operations.
ZEISS QEVO case example
Spinal cyst resection surgery
Micro Inspection Tool – Watch the video from the perspective of the ZEISS QEVO and follow the surgeon checking for adhesions up to the anterior spinal artery after cyst resection.
Spinal applications where ZEISS QEVO can help you during surgery:
- In cases of intradural spinal tumors, you can look around the spinal cord for additional examination of areas not in the direct field of view of the operating microscope.
- During thoracolumbar corpectomy, you can examine the results of removal of intervertebral discs or bones.
- In spinal fusion surgery, you can visualize hidden areas behind the cage using the ZEISS QEVO to examine the cage, spinal dura and nerve root.
- In cases requiring minimal access, such as extreme lumbar interbody fusion (XLIF) or anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF), you can use the ZEISS QEVO to see around the corner.

Resolution Enhancer
for difficult reconstructive surgeries
When performing surgery on delicate anatomical structures, for example during lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA), even the smallest details can make a big difference.
This way, you can get closer to the application you are working on and reliably visualize the smallest details (submillimeter-sized vessels) while improving image quality.
How does Resolution Enhancer work?
The Resolution Enhancer is stored with the ZEISS PENTERO 800 S. Before performing procedures where additional magnification and resolution are required, it can be easily attached to the bottom of the microscope head, inserted into the rail and tightened with the integrated screw. In the device interface, you will receive a prompt to balance the surgical microscope by starting the AutoBalance function.
The Resolution Enhancer must be installed before covering the visualization system. The SMARTDRAPE from ZEISS is also compatible with the Resolution Enhancer connected to the ZEISS PENTERO 800 S.
Uninterrupted Performance
with redesigned interactions
For exceptional performance, every movement must be precise – every day, case by case. Therefore, intuitive use and repositioning of the surgical microscope is key to maintaining constant focus on the patient and the current practice.
For the ZEISS PENTERO 800 S, we have optimized every device interaction with your clinical workflows and tuned it to match your intuition. It combines the new user interface with the characteristic weightless mobility of the PENTERO system, making it a reliable partner for true efficiency and seamless collaboration in the operating room.
Dive into the flow– ZEISS PENTERO 800 S
Effortless use
To spend less time on each case
Particularly in minimally invasive spinal surgery, the visualization system needs to be repositioned frequently to obtain the best viewing angle for each step of the procedure. The ZEISS PENTERO 800 S supports you in this process and adapts seamlessly to your movements. With the proven contraves stand system, moving the device feels completely weightless, so you can maneuver with less effort. It enables fast and precise repositioning in all directions.
At the same time, the ZEISS PENTERO 800 S offers excellent stability to ensure a constant view on delicate anatomical structures even at high magnification levels.
Intuitive User Interface
Optimized usability makes all the difference for your OR team to operate the visualization system efficiently and work with greater autonomy.
The ZEISS PENTERO 800 S comes with a modern and intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) on the high-resolution touch screen.
